Dr. Sagen Lynae Blackwell is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, a Master’s in Professional Counseling with a trauma focus, and undergraduate degrees in Psychology and History. She is additionally trained in EMDR and Prepare-Enrich.
Her goal is to help clients discover tools to gain fulfillment, meaning, happiness, and an improved quality of life. She believes that counseling can help people find a state of internal balance and optimal functioning by defining values, learning ways to live congruently with those values, and gaining useful coping skills.
She has work experience with adults with trauma histories, college students, and people from all walks of life ages 4 and up. She believes in tailoring counseling sessions to best fit your needs, but draws from a base of person-centered counseling, narrative counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance commitment therapy.
In her free time, she enjoys pottery, reading, and keeping active.
